Second day in Paris

The weather was comfortable when I woke up, a little sunshine but it wasn’t too strong. After a all-day-long walking and a tiring dinner, I wanted to go home, in fact(ha). But how could I give up before I saw Tour Eiffel? So after we took the breakfast at noon(yes it was breakfast), I stepped on the subway again, and headed to the center of Paris.

The first stop today was a building which I forget what it was(it was so long time ago and my memories has gone away), I think it was related to the government…, okay I really forget it. Anyway it’s a beautiful building. To be honest, I think generally, the buildings in Paris are usually gorgeous, meticulous, etc. Except for those which are in modern style, others are all classical french buildings. No wonder I always think I’m upgraded when I walk on the road in Paris.

And then it was walking, walking, and walking. We crossed Seine river, came to Notre Dame in Paris. The moment I saw it, I was totally shocked cause it was so wonderful, so amazing, so grand. But the little shortage was the long long long queue. My host mother said that 20, 30 years ago, there wasn’t anyone, it was very different from now that you need to wait for 1 or 2 hours to get in. If someday I have chance, I would like to come here at 5:00 in summer, to see the silence Notre Dame. I think I can feel its beauty only by the calmest state.

Walked by Notre Dame, we kept going on to the next stop. I found it on the way, it was a very old drinking which was made in 1872. Even after so many years, it’s still suitable to place in Paris. More than that, it makes this road a little special.

I forgot to tell you that, Notre Dame is on l’île de la cité, it’s a little island which was isolated by Seine river. But in fact there are many bridges connected to the land, so in the beginning, I didn’t aware that it was an island. I was only confused that why the name here is “island" (l’île is the island in French). After I looked at the map and I found that it was a little little little island.

Anyway, we walked from the side to the other side. It’s such a joy to walk slowly along Seine river, especially in the season when leaves are falling down. Those red, orange and yellow were so pretty, they made this road particularly attracting. Finally we went to Pont Neuf(a bridge), and we saw the equestrain statue of Henry fourth. The interesting thing is that behind the statue, there were full of lovers locks. This bridge isn’t the most famous bridge of lovers locks, but because there were so much lovers locks on the old one that it might break down, these years people started to change those lovers locks to other bridges. As a result, there are more and more bridges with lovers locks.

The sun was going down, the last stop today was Jardin du Luxembourg. On the way to Jardin du Luxembourg, we passed by Panthéon, a little surprise it that there was a stand sells bubble milk tea!!! Bubble milk tea is a kind of drinks which was invented by Taiwanese, and is very famous in Taiwan. It was too excited to see something familiar when you are in other countries haha. But we didn’t go inside, we just passed by. Well I wanted to drink it.

Okay, and then it was Jardin du Luxembourg, it’s a very big garden with lots of trees which are placed in order, it’s obvious that they were planted by hand, but it’s another kind of beauty. There were full of tourists and habitants walking slowly in this garden, and children were running on the defoliations. All that made this garden, even in autumn, when everything’s falling down, there was still some kind of vitality.

There is senate in this garden, and in the near future, I will come to here again, but it’s another thing. And there’s also a huge pond, there are many small ships on it. People use poles to push them to the pond. Interestingly, each ships represent different countries, Italy, Japan, Sweden, France…, Just like a small exhibition of countries, it was really a special scenery.

And, that was the end of second day, I still have many days to write. Oh and Christmas is on the corner, it’s now the end of the year, and I’m going to change the host family. But before that, let me expect for Christmas haha. I hope I will have a special Christmas this year.
